Kukka Rect — Solid Walnut & Bicolor Trefoil Leg Dining Table
A rectangular dining table whose legs are the design. Each of the four legs is built from two rounded blades joined at the spine — one in solid walnut, warm and open-grained; one in lacquered metal in a tone between sand and champagne. Together they form a trefoil profile, convex outside and concave at the joint, that reads as botanical as much as structural — closer to the cross-section of a stem than to a conventional table leg.
The plateau is a wide rectangle of solid walnut with generously rounded corners, the same walnut as the wood blade of each leg, so the grain temperature runs continuous from surface to floor. The edge is kept thin and precise to emphasise the span above. At 240 × 100 cm it seats six to eight, up to ten when filled — sized for a family dining room, an apartment, or an open-plan space, with legs at the four corners and clear room between.
The proposition is the contrast: warm open-grained walnut against smooth, cool lacquered metal, held in a single form. The walnut is matte hardwax-oiled and repairable over decades; the lacquered blade is smooth and matte, joined to the wood with a concealed mortise and no visible hardware. The walnut deepens with use while the lacquer holds its tone, so the contrast sharpens gently over time.
Made to order. Dimensions can be adjusted, the lacquer tone changed (taupe/champagne is standard), the wood specified darker or in oak, and the piece adapted for residential or contract use. Trade and project quotations available.
