Kukka Rect — Solid Walnut & Bicolor Trefoil Leg Dining Table
The Kukka Rect is the table in the collection that most generously gives away its construction method — and makes that generosity its primary aesthetic act. Four legs, each composed of two rounded lamas joined at the spine: one in solid walnut, its grain visible and warm; one in lacquered metal in a tone between sand and champagne. Together the two lamas form a trefoil profile — convex on the outside, concave at the joint — that is at once structural and botanical, recalling the cross-section of a stem or a seed pod as much as it recalls any furniture precedent.
The plateau is a wide rectangle of solid walnut with generously rounded corners — the same species as the walnut lamas of each leg, so that the grain temperature is continuous from surface to floor. The edge is thin, clean and precise, its thinness emphasising the generous span of the plateau above. The contrast between the warm, open-grained walnut and the smooth, cool lacquered metal lama on each leg is the Kukka's essential proposition — two materials, one form, one leg.
Suited for 6 to 10 guests depending on size. The most approachable mixed-material piece in the collection.
