The Torio Rectangular Dining Table — Ribbed Cream Top with Double Aged Brass Cylinder Base

The Torio is a table that understands ceremony. Two cylindrical columns in aged brass — their surfaces carrying the warm, oxidised patina of a metal that has been allowed to develop its own character — rise from broad circular bases and support a plateau of ribbed cream stone. Between the columns and the top, a continuous white ribbon spirals upward in a gesture that is at once structural and ornamental: a detail that belongs to the great tradition of Art Déco ébénisterie, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

The plateau deserves its own attention. Its edges are finished in fine horizontal ribs — a detail that gives the table a precision and a weight that smooth-edged tops cannot claim. The cream tone is neither white nor ivory, but something warmer and more considered: the colour of fine plaster in afternoon light, of Calacatta marble seen through gauze. It floats above the brass columns with the authority of a surface that knows it is the centrepiece of the room.
