The Sammal Rectangular — Green & White Marble Top with Brass Edge on Fluted Stone Columns
A large rectangular dining table whose top is a dramatic green-and-white brecciated marble — bold angular green fragments scattered across a white ground — framed by a slim brass edge band that draws a warm gold line around the whole perimeter. It rests on two fluted cylindrical pedestals in a deep green stone, each column channelled top to bottom so light rakes across the flutes. The brass mediates between the cool marble and the dark green columns, tying the palette together.
Its length suits eight to ten covers, making it a table for full dinners, boardrooms and formal hosting. The twin-pedestal base keeps the ends and long sides clear of legs, so seating is unobstructed and chairs tuck cleanly along the full run. It anchors a large dining room or a private-dining space. As a solid-stone top on stone columns, this is a very heavy piece — several hundred kilograms assembled — installed in place rather than moved.
Natural marble is a living surface: it should be sealed and wiped of spills promptly, as acidic liquids can etch the polish over time — a patina some designers prize, worth specifying matte or polished by intent. The brass band is lacquered to hold its colour, or can be left to patinate to a softer gold; the fluted stone columns are solid and effectively permanent.
